Meghan J. Heckman grew up on Bainbridge, Georgia and earned her juris doctorate from Mercer University School of Law in 2018

She is dedicated to her hometown community and has served in a variety of organizations including the Bainbridge-Decatur County Bar Association, where she has served as president since 2018.  She is married to Jimmy Heckman, who is an economist for the Florida Department of Economic Opportunity in Tallahassee, Florida. Meghan and Jimmy are expecting their first child, a boy, in July of 2023.
